1. University of Cape Town

UCT was founded in 1829 as the South African College making it the oldest higher education institute in South Africa. 2. Stellenbosch University

Stellenbosch University

Stellenbosch University is a public research university situated in Stellenbosch , a town in South Africa. Stellenbosch is jointly the oldest university in South Africa and the oldest university in Sub-Saharan Africa alongside the University of Cape Town Stellenbosch University climbed 34 places in this year’s ranking and is now placed joint 361 in the world.
